16-Year-Old Shot to Back of the Head in East New York as Shootings Continue to Climb

 





A 16-year-old teenager is in critical condition after he and two others were ambushed by a gunman in Brooklyn's East New York section last night.

Police say a gunman approached the three as they were seated in a car at the intersection of Dumont and Drew Street when the gunman opened fire at about 2:20 am. Two other males seated with the 16-year-old were also shot one of whom remains in critical condition.

The incident occurred one day after the tragic shooting of 2 police officers from the 32 precinct in Harlem which killed rookie police officer Jason Rivera, 21 and critically injured his partner Wibert Mora, 27.

The suspect was shot and critically injured by a third officer at the scene
